Softball Recap: Riverbank Takes a Loss

Riverbank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Linden Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 last Friday.

Alexis Felix made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Valeria Rosas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Riverbank's loss dropped their record down to 2-14-1. As for Linden, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Riverbank will head out to challenge Bret Harte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Linden, they will be playing at home against Calaveras at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
