Barbe entered their tilt with Sam Houston on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 64-55. The Buccaneers pushed the score to 56-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Broncos cut but never quite recovered from.

Barbe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jelandon Gray led the charge by rushing for 70 yards and one score, while also throwing for 117 yards and one TD on only ten passes. The Buccaneers also got help from Myles Ledoux, who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Barbe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 397 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Sam Houston lost, don't look at Gavin Breaux. Despite the final result, he rushed for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 140 yards and a pair of TDs. Breaux's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was E.J. Hanney, who rushed for 97 yards and one score.

The win got Barbe back to even at 5-5. As for Sam Houston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Barbe will face off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sam Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
