Basketball Recap: Jackson Burnham's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Laguna Hills over Tesoro

Laguna Hills lost against Tesoro back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Laguna Hills Hawks fell 58-50 to the Tesoro Titans. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Titans are ranked 146th).

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Burnham, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. Burnham's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cyrus Yusuf, who had 14 points and four steals.

Laguna Hills is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10. As for Tesoro, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Laguna Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-48 victory against Live Oak on the 30th. As for Tesoro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-38 win against Tustin on the 30th.
