Football Recap: Wildwood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wildwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles 52-25.

Wildwood's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremiah Corbin and Cameren Solis. Corbin picked up 148 receiving yards and one score, while Solis picked up 75 receiving yards and one TD. Corbin also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending three passes.

Kj Palmer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 301 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry for Paxon School For Advanced Studies. The Golden Eagles are 5-1 when Palmer posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Wildwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Wildwood is taking a road trip to face off against Auburndale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ribault at 6:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
