Preview: Brooks Eagles vs. Simeon Wolverines
Brooks has been on the road for ten straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Simeon Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Brooks suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Saturday. They were outmatched by Kankakee on the road and fell 81-33. While losing is never fun, Brooks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while Kankakee is ranked 29th).
Brooks' loss came about despite a quality game from Jacob Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Hayes, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Simeon pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of iSchool of Lewisville.
Brooks' defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Simeon, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
