Football Recap: Commerce's Rushing Dominance Continues + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Commerce had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 54-47 win over the Pilot Point Bearcats on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Commerce got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Brown out in front who threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. Ky'mani Graham was another key back, rushing for 197 yards and one score while picking up 10.9 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Commerce was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Pilot Point still got an impressive performance from Caden David, who rushed for 235 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Chumley, who rushed for 130 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Commerce's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Pilot Point, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Looking ahead, Commerce will square off against Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Zebras have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Pilot Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
