Baseball Recap: Tempe Prep Comes Up Short

Tempe Prep was the 12-8 winner over Phoenix Country Day when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tempe Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Drescher, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Tempe Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Phoenix Country Day, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tempe Prep will face off against ALA - Mesa North at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Phoenix Country Day, they will square off against San Tan Charter at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Roadrunners' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
