Volleyball Game Preview: Thunderbird Titans vs. Deer Valley Skyhawks

Thunderbird hasn't had much luck against Deer Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Skyhawks at 5:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Thunderbird came up short against Goldwater and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Deer Valley entered their tilt with Lee Williams on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Volunteers 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Deer Valley was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-2.

Deer Valley pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Thunderbird, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Thunderbird might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Deer Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
