Football Game Preview: Trumann Wildcats vs. Southside Southerners

The Trumann Wildcats will face off against the Southside Southerners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trumann has given up an average of 41 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Trumann is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They took a blow against Blytheville, falling 56-24.

Trumann's defeat came about despite a quality game from Drake Harlow, who threw for 170 yards and one touchdown on only 16 passes, and also punched in one rushing score.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, Southside was not quite Gosnell's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 29-16 to the Pirates. The game marked the Southerners' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southside fell to 7-1. As for Trumann, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Trumann took a serious blow against Southside in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 49-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Southerners' Owen McLaughlin, who rushed for 107 yards and three TDs on only eight carries.
