Football Recap: Holton Takes Down Baldwin in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Holton rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 54-12 win over the Baldwin Bulldogs. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Holton had a senior duo take command as Alec Frazier rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries and Korban Wilson rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Wilson's longest rush was for an incredible 83 yards. Jarett Abel was in the mix as well, providing Holton with one score.

Holton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 430 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Baldwin lost, don't look at Bryis Alford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 140 yards and one TD.

Holton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Baldwin, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.

Coming up, Holton will challenge Frontenac at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Baldwin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
