Basketball Recap: Appleton East Starts Season with Loss at Home

Appleton East unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Marshfield Tigers on Tuesday, falling 81-59. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March.

Chris Pohl had a dynamite game For Marshfield., going 8-for-15 en route to 31 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Valin Ramberg, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 15 points and five rebounds.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appleton East will host Kaukauna at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshfield, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against La Crosse Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
