League recap: Clear Lake wins, gets boost in standings

North Central I recap September 24, 2013

Clear Lake was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in North Central I. Earlier in the week, the Cardinals triumphed over the Cardinals 28-24.

Kelseyville scaled the state rankings by moving to 598 from 697 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Knights were able to move up by besting Swett 60-16.

Mason Sanders was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 144 yards on 12 carries as Lower Lake topped Upper Lake. Eric Moreno also contributed to the rushing game with 147 yards on the ground.

Moreno was a passing and rushing force as the Trojans topped the Cougars.

The top two teams in North Central I will face off this week when first place Kelseyville takes on second place St. Helena.

Middletown took down El Molino 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
