Basketball Game Preview: Carolina Forest Panthers vs. Wando Warriors + Official Tickets

The Carolina Forest Panthers will challenge the Wando Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Carolina Forest humbled Southeastern Christian Academy with a 68-39 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Wando over Philip Simmons in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors blew the Iron Horses out of the water with a 63-18 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Iron Horses: they've now won four in a row.

Wando's win came from a few key players Carolina Forest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Rush, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Rush is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Malaya Mazyck was another key player, putting up nine points along with six assists and four steals.

Wando was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Philip Simmons only posted six.

Carolina Forest now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wando, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Carolina Forest came up short against Wando in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 37-31. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
