Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Cougars vs. Beallsville Blue Devils

Frontier is 10-0 against Beallsville since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Frontier Cougars will host the Beallsville Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Frontier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.

Frontier is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Marlington just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Friday. They lost to the Dukes at home by a 48-34 margin. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Frontier's defeat came about despite a quality game from True King, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. King has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austyn Kole Kephart, who posted six points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Frontier smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Beallsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 51-19 defeat at the hands of Conotton Valley.

Beallsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Frontier, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Frontier against Beallsville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 67-25 victory. In that game, Frontier amassed a halftime lead of 44-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
