Basketball Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 66-57 to the Penns Manor Comets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-58 back in December of 2024.

Penns Manor had a senior duo take command as Amin Lieb dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten assists and Alex Polenik went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points. Vinny Myers was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points.

River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Penns Manor, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

River Valley will be playing at home against Purchase Line at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. River Valley is facing Purchase Line at the right time seeing as Purchase Line is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Penns Manor, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-44 victory against Paw Paw on the 25th.
