Volleyball Recap: Kristyn Ybarra and Araceli Fernandez Secure Win for Hondo

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crystal City, Hondo was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Dilley Wolves. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-20.

Hondo was led to victory by Araceli Fernandez and Kristyn Ybarra. Fernandez had 12 digs and two assists, while Ybarra had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Ybarra has posted over her last six contests.

Hondo's win bumped their record up to 19-12. As for Dilley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hondo will square off against rival Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dilley is set to take on their familiar foe Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
