Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Beats Sunrise Mountain for Their Sixth Straight Victory

It's playoff time, and Chaparral had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Firebirds, who have now won six matches in a row.

Leading Chaparral to victory were Caprice Cooper and Avery Crain. Cooper had 47 digs and two aces, while Crain had 16 digs. Those 47 digs gave Cooper a new career-high.

Sunrise Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Rolfes, who had 28 digs and one block. Rolfes is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 37 games she's played. Kami Milner was another key player, getting 26 digs.

Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 34-5. As for Sunrise Mountain, with the loss, they broke their 20-match winning streak and moved their record to 35-4.

As of now, neither Chaparral nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
