Monroe had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets a 21-0 shutout. Considering the Redhawks have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Monroe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamir Jackson, who rushed for 142 yards and one touchdown. Jackson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 142 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Simpkins, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one score.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Forest Hills, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forest Hills, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 40-28 victory against Smoky Mountain on the 7th.
