Basketball Recap: Emre Gedik Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Omaha Westside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 64-60 victory over the Creighton Prep Junior Jays. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-61 last Tuesday.

Omaha Westside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emre Gedik, who posted 17 points along with five boards and five steals. Lee Robinson was another key player, putting up 16 points and six rebounds.

Creighton Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Torran Carter-Brown, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points. Carter-Brown is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Bohnet, who put up eight points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Omaha Westside and bumps their season record up to 11-1. As for Creighton Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Omaha Westside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lincoln Southwest at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Omaha Westside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Creighton Prep, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Lincoln North Star at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Lincoln North Star has won four straight at home, while Creighton Prep won four straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
