Recap: Holy Family Tigers vs. Greeley Central Wildcats
The Holy Family Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 79-57 margin over Greeley Central. The win was some much needed relief for Holy Family as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Holy Family to victory were Caleb Schott and Gabe Tafoya. Schott scored 14 points along with four steals, while Tafoya scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Portillo jr, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniel Martinez, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five assists. Martinez is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Martin Mendoza, who scored 11 points.
Holy Family's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Greeley Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Holy Family will be playing at home against Centaurus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centaurus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Greeley Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Longmont is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.2 points per game.
