Soccer Game Preview: Lafayette vs. Griffith Institute

The Lafayette Generals will take on the Griffith Institute Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Lafayette is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Medina. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lafayette.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Griffith Institute ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past Alden 4-3. Griffith Institute's winning goal came courtesy of Bryce Cook.

Griffith Institute's victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Lafayette, their win bumped their record up to 15-2-1.

Lafayette took their victory against Griffith Institute when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
