Volleyball Recap: Raytown Comes Up Short

Raytown came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Grain Valley Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 25-15.

Grain Valley found their leader in sophomore Shellby Overturf, who had six digs and two aces.

With the defeat, Raytown broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for Grain Valley, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Raytown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Platte County on the 11th. As for Grain Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Chrisman on the 11th.
