Basketball Game Preview: Clairton Bears vs. Carrick Raiders

The Clairton Bears and the Carrick Raiders will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Clairton will be strutting in after a victory while Carrick will be coming in after a loss.

Clairton is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing California: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Clairton blew California out of the water with an 83-56 final score. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Carrick suffered their closest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Brashear by a score of 41-38. The Raiders have struggled against the Bulls recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Clairton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Carrick, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
