Baseball Game Preview: South Harrison Hawks vs. St. Marys Blue Devils

The South Harrison Hawks will face off against the St. Marys Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither South Harrison nor St. Marys posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

South Harrison made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lincoln, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 12, 2021, but that streak is no more.

South Harrison saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madden Maxwell, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Colton Patterson, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, St. Marys unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Williamstown, falling 9-2.

South Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for St. Marys, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Everything went South Harrison's way against St. Marys when the teams last played on April 7th, as South Harrison made off with a 13-1 victory. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
