Basketball Recap: Miami Find Success

Miami won the last time they faced Verdigris, and Lane Walther did his part to make sure it happened again. The Miami Wardogs were the clear victor by a 73-52 margin over the Verdigris Cardinals on Friday thanks in part to Walther, who went 9 for 16 en route to 26 points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Miami's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Verdigris, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Miami will head out to take on Oologah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oologah knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Miami likes a good challenge. As for Verdigris, they will look to defend their home court on February 7th against Skiatook at 7:30 p.m.
