Basketball Recap: Westside Christian Academy Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Westside Christian Academy had won five straight games and Calvin Cottenden did his part to make it six on Monday. The stars were shining brightly for the Westside Christian Academy Eagles in a 52-38 victory over the Northeast Ohio College Prep Knights thanks in part to Cottenden, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played.

Westside Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Northeast Ohio College Prep, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Westside Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northeast Ohio College Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on HEARTS for Jesus Christ at 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
