Softball Recap: Rudder Comes Up Short

Rudder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elgin Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Rudder saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liselle Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Christina Lucio was another, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Rudder's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Elgin, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Rudder didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-6 victory against Lampasas on the 13th. As for Elgin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-7 loss against Pasadena Memorial on the 13th.
