MCALESTER, Okla. -
McAlester (Okla.) beat East Central (Tulsa, Okla.) 76-28 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback
Dalton Wood, who threw three touchdown passes while running for two more.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Wood in the first quarter, the Buffaloes led 35-21 at the half.
McAlester grew its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored five times in the third, including once on a touchdown.
Jarome Smith and Wood ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Cardinals. Smith scored four touchdowns on the ground and Wood added two as well.
McAlester's standout player in the win was Wood. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
