League recap: Sayreville's league-best two wins lead to standings climb

Greater Middlesex - Red league recap: 4/3/13

Sayreville outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Bombers beat Piscataway 12-3 and the Chiefs 10-2.

Sayreville currently leads Greater Middlesex - Red with a 2-0 record overall and a 2-0 mark during league play. Edison sits 0.5 games back in second, with a 1-0 record in league play.

The Bombers' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only four hits and one walk, both of which led the league.

Old Bridge's Brandon Abdul was locked in this week, and led the league with a 1.000 average (-12-for--12) over that span. He's batting .000 on the year, which puts him at 27th in the league. Abdul has zero hits total this season.



Sayreville's Christian Campbell struck out ten Piscataway hitters en route to a 10-2 victory on April 1. He gave up four hits and two runs over six innings of work.
