Recap: Grant Lancers vs. Canoga Park Hunters
The Grant Lancers had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Canoga Park 52-15 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Grant, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthonella Bitoka, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Daniela Rivas-Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Grant's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Canoga Park, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Grant will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Canoga Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sherman Oaks CES at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
