Softball Recap: Window Rock Comes Up Short

While it was Window Rock who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Monument Valley who put up more. The Fighting Scouts took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Fighting Scouts have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Window Rock saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robyn Billison, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Another was Ryleigh Owens, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Window Rock's loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Monument Valley, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Window Rock beat the Mustangs by a score of 17-10 later that day.
