Greenbrier West extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-11 in the process. They lost 20-8 to the Richwood Lumberjacks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lumberjacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 back in March.

Dakota Hamrick and Scott McClung stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hamrick went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while McClung got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Hamrick has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Doss, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Richwood, the win got them back to even at 7-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Richwood's side, Parker Giles made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Giles a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Kaden Lane was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Jenkins, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
