Soccer Recap: Firebaugh Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Firebaugh has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coalinga Horned Toads. Firebaugh were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Coalinga earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Lizbeth Aguirre and Alexa Martinez scored both of Firebaugh's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 11-5-2. As for Coalinga, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12-4.

Firebaugh didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 defeat against Mendota on the 28th. As for Coalinga, they will face off against Avenal at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
