Volleyball Recap: Marion Extends Winning Streak to Three

Marion had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Goreville Blackcats by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: Goreville scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.

Kaylin Wolfe paced Marion's offense, picking up seven kills. Wolfe got some help from Addisyn Lenon and her ten assists. Finally, Alyssa Johnson kept Marion's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Marion now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Goreville, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.

Marion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Murphysboro on the 4th. As for Goreville, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Vienna on the 4th.
