Basketball Recap: Ashdown Takes a Loss

Ashdown kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 68-31 loss at the hands of the Jasper Pirates.

It was another big night for Blake Williams, who posted 17 points for Jasper. Another player making a difference was Ty Floyd, who earned 13 points.

The win was the sixth in a row for Jasper, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Ashdown will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on December 16. As for Jasper, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lead Hill at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
