Volleyball Recap: Blair's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Blair unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Waverly Vikings. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-13.

Blair's loss came despite strong showings from Addi Svehla and Olivia Wolff. Svehla had 12 digs and two aces, while Wolff had ten assists and nine digs. Svehla is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Madeline Chikos also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Waverly was led to victory by Emmalyn Quinn and Ansley Real. Quinn had 25 digs and two aces, while Real had six aces and five digs. That's the most digs Quinn has posted over her last seven matches.

Blair's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Waverly, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blair will welcome Elkhorn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waverly, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m.
