Basketball Recap: Southern Lab's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Southern Lab won the last time they faced St. Martinville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Kittens walked away with a 50-38 win over the Tigers. The Kittens pushed the score to 46-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Martinville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kervin Fontenette, Jr., who posted seven points. He has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Marc Floyd, who put up nine points and seven boards.

Southern Lab's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. As for St. Martinville, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Southern Lab will take on Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Martinville, they will take on Delhi in a tournament on Saturday.
