Volleyball Recap: Westmont Hilltop Comes Up Short

The Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers lost 3-0 to the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers on Thursday. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-18.

Westmont Hilltop's offense was headlined by Bella Kist and Elizabeth Veranese, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Isabella Thomas and her nine assists. Finally, Brookelyn Summers kept Westmont Hilltop's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Rylee Harshaw, who had 15 digs and two aces. Those 15 digs gave her a new career-high.

Westmont Hilltop's defeat dropped their record down to 9-10. As for Hollidaysburg, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Westmont Hilltop has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Ferndale on the 6th. As for Hollidaysburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Philipsburg-Osceola on the 4th.
