Basketball Game Preview: Schaumburg Christian Conquerors vs. Aurora Central Catholic Chargers

Having just played yesterday, the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors will jump right back in to play the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Schaumburg Christian is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since November 29th on Thursday. They came up short against Plainfield Central, falling 62-42. The Conquerors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Schaumburg Christian got top-tier performance from Lucas Bustamante, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 20 points and five steals. Bustamante's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Saenz, who posted two points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Aurora Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Harvest Christian Academy. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Chargers, who fell 59-57 when the teams last met back in November of 2022.

Aurora Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Schaumburg Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
