Volleyball Recap: Bushland Snaps 17-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Bushland was the 3-0 winner over West Plains when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 25-21 in the first set.

Bushland wouldn't go down easily and took West Plains into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 18-25, 15-10.

West Plains got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Idaly Sotelo out in front who had 26 digs and eight assists. Those eight assists gave Sotelo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Wineberg, who had 13 digs and three aces.

Bushland's loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-6. As for West Plains, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Bushland will take on Hereford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Plains, they are taking a road trip to take on Shallowater at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
