Football Game Preview: Claiborne Academy Rebels vs. Union Christian Academy Lions + How To Watch

Claiborne Academy is 7-2 against Union Christian Academy since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Claiborne Academy has seven straight wins, Union Christian Academy has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Claiborne Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Tensas Academy, who was ranked 12th at the time (Claiborne Academy was ranked fifth). The Rebels put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 48-28 victory on Friday. Fans of the Rebels have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Kyler Monk produced another solid performance rushing for 71 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. He has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Maddox Gaston was another key player, picking up 63 receiving yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, Union Christian Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to Wilkinson County Christian Academy. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Union Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Claiborne Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
