Volleyball Recap: Orcas Island Comes Up Short

After flying high against Auburn Adventist on Thursday, Orcas Island came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the La Conner Braves on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Orcas Island was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into La Conner's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.

Orcas Island's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for La Conner, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season.

Orcas Island will challenge Forest Ridge Sacred Heart at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Conner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
