Basketball Recap: Livermore Comes Up Short

Livermore fought the good fight in their overtime contest against California on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the California Grizzlies 62-57. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 39th).

California was led to victory by DANE WALLACE and Emeka Ifediora. WALLACE posted 16 points, while Ifediora scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Harrison Park, who put up nine points.

Livermore is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9. As for California, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

When Livermore and California next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Livermore will try to stop De La Salle's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, California will challenge Dougherty Valley and their six-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
