Basketball Recap: Strong Comes Up Short

Strong lost against Emerson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Strong Bulldogs were outmatched by the Emerson Pirates and fell 76-20. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Pirates are ranked 99th).

Strong dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Emerson, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strong will square off against Hermitage at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Strong is facing Hermitage at the right time seeing as Hermitage is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Emerson, they will challenge Columbia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Emerson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
