Basketball Recap: Summit Charter Starts Season with Win at Home

Summit Charter took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 61-6 victory over the Macon Early College Foxes. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bears had established a 49-point advantage.

Summit Charter was led to victory by Victoria Clement and Bailey Robinson. Clement posted eight points along with 12 boards and five assists, while Robinson shot 46% from the field on her way to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Clement a new career-high in shooting accuracy (80%). Olivia Reeves was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Macon Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Summit Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-12 win against Nantahala on the 14th. As for Macon Early College, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-18 loss against Hiwassee Dam on the 21st.
