Football Recap: Wilmington Comes Up Short

Wilmington lost against Melrose back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Hawks.

Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Melrose, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilmington is set to face off against their familiar foe Watertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Melrose will square off against rival Stoneham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Hawks 13, the Spartans 13.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
