Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mahwah). They blew past the Paramus Spartans 49-14 on Friday. For the Thunderbirds, this counts as revenge for the 28-21 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Mikey Branagh threw for 178 yards while completing 76.2% of his passes. Jacob Zaky was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one score.
Paramus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jakob Hosie, who threw for 163 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 62 yards on only six carries.
The victory made it two in a row for Mahwah and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games. As for Paramus, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.
