The Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes will square off against the Vienna Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Zeigler-Royalton's win against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tornadoes had just enough and edged out the Fighting Cardinals 6-5 on Monday. The Tornadoes haven't had any issues with the Fighting Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Mayti House spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Zeigler-Royalton let Adrianna Furlow-Hampton and Brylee Martin run wild. Furlow-Hampton went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Martin went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Capogreco, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Zeigler-Royalton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Vienna can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Elverado. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Alli Vinson tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Vienna got a big performance out of Millie Partridge, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Casey Norris was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Vienna's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Zeigler-Royalton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Zeigler-Royalton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Vienna struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
