Baseball Recap: Dixon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Woodland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dixon). They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Woodland Wolves 10-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brayden Green made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kai Mulitsch-Reynolds, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Erick Siegmund was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Dixon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Dixon's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5-1. As for Woodland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixon will take on Woodland at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodland, they and Sutter will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
