Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of six wins, Trinity Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 55-46 to the Como-Pickton Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while the Eagles are ranked 1578th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Nutt, who posted 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Nutt's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Luke Rolen was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Trinity Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Como-Pickton, they moved to 4-15 with that win, which also ended their 15-game losing streak.

Trinity Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-44 victory against Texoma Christian on the 28th. As for Como-Pickton, they will face off against Cumby at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cumby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.
